The concept of paid survey is really simple. 3 Steps are involved in a paid survey process.
Step 1. Survey companys get marketing research project from therir customers with a budget
Step 2. Survey companys search for eligible participants. If your profile matches the requirement, you will be notified through email.
Step 3. You take the survey, and as a reward for your time and effort, survey company gives you cash, points of free merchandise.

2. Are paid survey for real, or they are just scams ?

Yes paid surveys are absolute real and BIG business. Millions of dollars are being paid everyday to participants of surveys.
For example, As of April 06, 2005, Surveysavvy has paid consumers $12,392,566.48 for participating in surveys!
Yes, that's more than 12 million !
As another example, Surveys.com has paid $15,000,000 given to members.

But as in every business, there are also scams in paid survey business. According to our research, only about 1-2% are scams

3. What do I need to join the survey ?

Basically if you can view this page, your equipment are okay for taking survey.
Besides this, all you need is an email account.
We strongly recommend that you apply for an dedicate email account for surveys.

4. How much money can I make ?

Most surveys are short. And this paragraph below show how it generally works for you:

"I did one this morning that took less than 5 minutes. It only paid $4.00 but for 5 minutes work I am not going to complain. Yesterday I did one that paid $10.00. Two weeks ago I did a $25.00 one. And I also had one that paid $50. "

7. Some survey sites only have drawing reward, is it worthwhile to join these sites ?

If you like to take chances, you should join. (You could win $100, even $1000 !)
Even you are not a chance taker, you should consider joining too. Because the chance to win depends on how many people participate the survey.
Usually survey with drawing reward has less participants than cash rewarded surveys, but this is where the chance is:
if 100 people take a $250 survey, it is mathematically equal to $2.50/participant for this survey.
if only 10 people take the same $250 survey, it is mathematically equal to $25/participant for this survey !

8. I signed up with some survey sites, but why no surveys ?

First, please check that you are indeed signed up ! Most legitimate survey sites will send you confirmation email after you requested to join. Some email filters may treat it as a spam. Please make sure you have seen the confirmation email and confirmed. Or you can contact the survey site for membership questions.

Second, please fill in various profiles to increase the chance of getting surveys. For example, in surveysavvy, you may fill 8 different profiles, as indicated in the picture below.
Although filling profile is not mandatory, we suggest you fill the profile as much as you can and increase the chance of getting surveys.
